During our brainstorm session, a set of topics was identified to be discussed in further detail by those members interested in having informal discussions in addition to the main talks in this programme. The list of topics is provided below. For those where some members volunteer to organise these sessions, their names appear in parenthesis. These discussions leaders are reminded to post in this wiki the schedule of their activities, so that interested members can join in, and to contact Michelle in case there is a need to book a KITP room.

WHAT IS A QUANTUM MECHANICAL DESCRIPTION OF A FLUCTUATING HORIZON ? (ARON WALL)

Are causal horizons still well-defined when the metric of spacetime fluctuates? Are the fluctuations of the horizon related to a UV cutoff of the states near (or on) the horizon? Do they shed light on state counting, or information transfer near the horizon? The goal will be to try to answer such questions with the help of perturbative calculations of the size and nature of these fluctuations. I would also like to discuss what quantum gravity might look like on a null "initial data surface".
